The 2016 IPC Snowboard Europa Cup Finals and a leg of the World Cup were held at Les Angles and Formigueres in the French Pyrenees. Spectacular scenery, great snow, superb boarder cross and bank slalom courses and warm welcome from the locals greeted the riders. It was largely agreed that this was the best event of the season. Les Angles is the resort of French Para-Snowboarding World Champion and Paralympic Silver Medalist Cecile Hernandez Cervellon.

112 imagesFormigueres is just 5km from Les Angles. It's North facing slopes are tree covered and were holding perfect snow conditions. A chilly windy greeted the riders for the 2016 IPC Europa Cup Banked Slalom Finals. The long course wound it's way down through the trees from near the top of the resort. The course, made up of 4 distinct sections, tested the riders abilities to cover a variety of terrain at speed. A perfect location for getting some great photos, too!

194 imagesThe wind had eased of for the 2016 IPC World Cup Banked Slalom in Formigueres. The sun warmed everyone up nicely and the conditions held on the cool north facing slopes of the resort. The competition was raced out over 3 runs providing plenty of opportunity to improve times.
