5 galleries

Last stop before the World Para Snowboard World Championships in Finland at the end of March. La Molina in the Spanish Pyrenees is no stranger to hosting Para Snowboarding World Cups and World Championships and once again have pulled out all the stops to make sure that racing took place despite the tricky snow conditions.

Portraits of all the athletes present at this World Cup. I took these in preparation for use at the World Championships in Finland. 3 minutes with each athlete and around two hours of fun shooting in our makeshift studio in the hotel. A big thank you to everyone helping make this happen!

Away from the lean snow conditions of the Snowboard Cross the course setters built the most magnificent banked slalom course of the season. Quite remarkable considering the lean snow conditions, but the sheltered nature of the stadium and the careful preservation of the snow that is there enabled them to create something rather special! A fantastic day's racing was enjoyed even if low cloud did occasionally mask our mountain.

The final day of the Para Snowboard World cup in La Molina and a super exciting banked slalom race with plenty of action. The day was topped off by the Coaches' Race and, much to the relief of all the boarders none of the coaches managed to ride the course faster than Keith Gabel who won his first banked slalom World Cup today!!
