The final races of the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup season took place in the picturesque and immensely popular French resort of Morzine. On the programme were two slalom World Cup races and a test event - the Team race with parallel slalom racing......

    The Team Event was a test of a format of racing new to Para Alpine Skiing; the hope being to include it in a future Winter Paralympic Games. It's not the first time a Team Event has been trialled as there was on raced on a banked slalom course in La Molina back in 2013. The big difference, here, was that the skiers would, after qualifications, go head to head on parallel slalom courses (with Super G / Giant Slalom gates). The race was held on a floodlit course which finished 'in town' at the doors of the Hotel Tremplin. It pulled quite a crowd of spectators who supported, noisily, the ski-racers as they battled it out on the piste. Even though it was a TEST event the competitive spirit was very much alive and the racing was hotly contested.
