Finally the weather improved. The sun came out and the sky was that deep Alpine blue that every skier longs for. Everyone was summoned to get stuck in installing nets, shifting snow and bashing and grooming the competition piste de Lognan into racing conditions. Yet despite the immense efforts of everyone involved the race jury concluded, mid-morning, that the snow was too soft for speed events to be safely run on and had to cancel the entire competition as a result. Too much snow!
