After the rain of the opening ceremony the sunshine and heat of the canicule. The first day of competition at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships kicked off with some spectacular long distance racing, long jump and high jump competitions as well as javelin and discus. It was a great start to a fabulous week of parasport in Lyon.
